Starting pre-school, a big step.
Needing a blankie for rest time.
Not wanting to leave any of the already loved ones there.
Too much to carry back and forth everyday, too much to possibly forget.
Solution: a new, simple, mama-made blanket.
Feels like a mommy hug every time.
This was very simply made, quickly, out of necessity (i.e., demand) really. My idea for it was inspired by this cozy quick blankie on the purl bee as I had the fleece in my stash and A picked it out immediately for its softness. The quilting cotton was also in my stash. I didn't have enought ric rac for the edging (I made this a bit bigger than baby-size as A is four), so there is just a simple zig-zag stitching around the edge. Nothing fancy, but loved nonetheless!

Inspired by SouleMama, here's my simply ten good things list:
Yarn in hand, needles clicking
Halloweening anticipation, costume planning
Self-portraits and proud self-defining
Sisters reading, falling asleep together
Whispering down the lane during dinner
Pumpkins, sweet potatoes, winter squash, apples - cozy food
Perfect, crisp, sunny days - walks through the woods
Wonderful old friends and surprise visits
Smiles, hugs and snuggles after a long day at work
Uninterrupted movie streaming thanks to a recycled beer can
***
Its amazing how once I start, its hard to stop at ten.

Autumn brings so many changes: bursts of colors, crisper air, new daily life rhythms and a shifting light. It seems like a good time to start something new. After enjoying and being so very inspired by other people's blogs (and spending way too much time doing so), I'm ready to stop dragging my feet and join the conversation. I love making and creating, so, despite myself, I'm going to share some of my projects and doings with the world, hopefully learn something new, and maybe (even) give back some of the inspiration I've received. Its time to fall in and see where it leads.
